Michael (Mike) Abbott is the Executive Vice President of Software at General Motors, where he oversees a newly established end-to-end software organization dedicated to advancing vehicle and enterprise software technologies. Before joining General Motors, Abbott served as Vice President of Engineering at Apple Cloud Services, where he managed a wide range of infrastructure and product offerings, including iCloud, account security, iMessage, and more. His career also includes roles at Stanford’s Artificial Intelligence Lab, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), Twitter, Palm, and Microsoft Azure. Abbott is actively involved in academia and serves on the boards of several institutions, with a diverse background spanning entrepreneurship and venture-backed startups. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly and pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Washington.
