Verge Genomics is dedicated to using algorithms to further drug discovery for complex neurodegenerative conditions, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease. All of these conditions are currently without a cure, and they are estimated to cost society close to $1 trillion per year by 2020. Brain diseases are notoriously difficult to treat because they are caused by complex interactions between many genes—requiring a more advanced process than drug discovery techniques targeting a single gene at a time.
