A couple of weeks ago we flipped the switch on a brand new website for Two Sigma Ventures. We’re really proud of who we are and what we’re doing, but we haven’t historically done a lot to actively share our story publicly. That’s about to change, and this new website feels like a good first step.
2017 has been a year of notable milestones for Two Sigma Ventures — our fifth anniversary, our fiftieth portfolio company, and the first successful exits from our portfolio. It’s also been busy — we’ve added several new colleagues to our team, both on the investing and operating sides of the business, made a few new and exciting investments, and kicked off numerous new initiatives to expand our ability to partner with and support ambitious entrepreneurs harnessing data as a driving force of innovation. With so much to reflect on and share this year, it was a challenging time to build a website that we felt captured the full Two Sigma Ventures.
Like any good website, we aimed to create something that clearly and beautifully shows a visitor who we are (an early-stage venture capital fund investing patient financial capital and expert human capital in entrepreneurs using data and engineering to create the future) and why we do it (to support ambitious entrepreneurs solving humanity’s toughest challenges through the intelligent application of math, data, and advanced computing). But more than that, we wanted a new site that would highlight and celebrate what we are most proud of from our first five years — our partnership with 50+ companies doing really amazing work — while also previewing how we’ll continue to grow.
Our website represents who we are today and how we view our role in the rapidly evolving and always exciting tech ecosystem. We’ll continue to refine and add to it in the coming weeks and months as we have new partnerships, stories, and achievements to share. But in the meantime, we hope we’ve built something that begins to help the world get to know us a bit better.
If you are an entrepreneur with a big idea about how data science or engineering is going to transform an industry — tell us about it and we’ll see how we can help. If you are a member of the tech or startup ecosystem and have ideas for how Two Sigma Ventures can support the community we’re collectively building, let us know. Or if you just have feedback about our new website or find a typo (gasp!), we’d love to hear from you. The contact form on the new site makes it very simple to get in touch.
